CHAPEL RECAP: JULY 8TH 2022

On July 8th, we hosted our first Chapel at The Symes of 2022 and we married 6 incredibly unique couples.

For this Chapel, we created a delicate and sustainable backdrop made of recycled and repurposed apple cartons. With the help of Flower Treasures, a curated floral install that incorporated a mix of dried florals was paired with the textured backdrop to create a stunning ivory arch.

Setting the mood for our couples, Toronto Jazz Collective played for each memorable ceremony, while our officiants Jonny Belinko and Kim Adeney stood with our couples as they tied the knot in front of their friends and family. The ceremony was captured by Curio Studios with a special live stream to all online guests that were celebrating with the couple virtually.

Alicia Thurston and Liz, from The Organic Moment, beautifully documented every special moment that took place that day. Our couples not only enjoyed Fresh Wines, Viveau and Steam Whistle refreshments, but they also got to treat themselves to light bites from Courage Cookies and Purplesful Popcorn in our modern take of ‘grandmas living room’ inspired lounge complete with timeless leather furniture, a vintage TV vinyled with our iconic CoolerThanCityHall hashtag, and handpicked artwork. A refreshing citrus raspberry cake by Kwento was a perfect pairing with a summer Chapel and a fun photo opportunity for everyone involved.

This Chapel raised $1,800 to Help Age Canada, which is a non-profit charity that assists and empower older people who are vulnerable, isolated, or lonely, by developing innovative programs and collaborations to foster a world in which all persons age with dignity.
