CHAPEL RECAP: MAY 19TH & 20TH, 2022

As we move from fall weather into the cold Canadian months we are reminiscing over the beautiful airy colours and warmth of spring days. This is bringing to mind one of our two-day Chapels from this past year, the May 19/20th Chapel that boasted spring-time baby hues and lush greens. Our May 19/20th chapel, hosted at the gorgeous and tree-scaped spaces of Evergreen Brick Works, was a two day Chapel where we married 19 eager couples. Each couple invited up to 30 guests to join them, filling the BMO Atrium with with love, laughter and pastel beauty. Not only were the guests and couples enthusiastic for the day, but the many amazing professional vendors we collaborated with came with pep-in-their-step to absolutely nail the decor, music, florals and sweet treats.

Over the two days we worked with our best-in-class vendors bringing our vision of a high-tea meets secret garden aesthetic to life. Flower Treasures delivered on big sprays of hanging greenery that mimicked the natural growth of plant life on lattice, while our rental collaborators brought in vintage and organic-looking wooden furniture that made all of our โ€œAnne of Green Gablesโ€ dreams come true. The natural industrial and vintage feel of the Evergreen Brick Works, BMO Atrium space added to the garden feel. With its large windows showering natural lighting into the Chapel, and a quaint interactive childrenโ€™s garden/beautiful forested walking trails just a step outside, it fit the inspiration perfectly. EpiQVision enhanced the vibe with beautiful backlighting for the later hours of the day, continuing to show off the gorgeous space and our couples. Kwento delivered the cutest petite cutting cakes adorned with frills reminiscent of pastel green tea dresses, as The Toronto Jazz Collective played beautiful renditions of couples chosen processional songs.

One thing we absolutely cannot forget is the couples themselves! The sweetest and most stylish couples walked the aisle. The photos captured by our awesome band of photographers show the pure joy that emanated from them as they held each other hand-in-hand and said โ€˜I doโ€™. A few shout outs to the couples who did something different this Chapel by wearing non-traditional clothing and having our florist design gorgeous custom arrangements for their personal flowers that wowed everyone there. Every Chapel experience goes to support a different cause in our community, donating at minimum of $300 from each package we sell. At Evergreen Brick Works our team is proud to support the Evergreen Childrenโ€™s Garden. The Evergreen Childrenโ€™s Garden encourages children and youth to get in-touch with nature and teaches them about nature conservancy, plants which benefit our wildlife (such as bees), sustainable gardening and to find joys in experiencing the outside world. We believe, as a team, that prioritizing education for the next generation, encouraging them to approach life with a sustainable mindset, is the key to a brighter future and healthier planet. Our Chapel model highly focuses on lowering the eco-footprint within the wedding industry and we always seek out community lead organizations that value the same.

While the Pop-Up Chapel experience always includes florals, decor, food + drink, music and of course the ambience of a gorgeous venue, this Chapel had something a little extra; each couple walked away with a gorgeous gift from our sponsor Dean Davidson. They each received a stunning diamond necklace, which they could wear for their engagement photo session after, or save to bring some sparkle into their honeymoon adventures. It is always an incredible feeling to be able to give a little bit more to our couples and make each of their days even that much more special!
