CHAPEL RECAP: OCTOBER 21, 2022

On a beautiful day in late October, we were so excited to host another Chapel in Toronto at The Symes!

On October 21st we married 9 amazing couples at one of our favourite venues in Toronto. This architectural space born in the Art Deco era has been restored and restyled as a unique event space in Toronto. This space has so much natural light coming through from the grand windows and amazing exposed brick to give the space an ultra modern vibe. To top all that, the space has an incredible black patio for you to enjoy during your reception!

This venue already speaks for itself with its unique interior and exterior, so our team decided to create something elegant to match the present vibe of the space. Using wooden arches draped in gorgeous velvet jewel toned fabric, we created a stunning backdrop for the ceremony. To add to it, the talented Flower Child Muskoka provided complimenting florals. The florals lined the bottom of the ceremony backdrop and the aisle. The jewel tone florals with pops of red roses and a lot of greenery made this ceremony extra beautiful. For the bouquets, florals were provided by May Flowers, who did an amazing job as always.

As the couples and guests moved onto the cocktail hour, the bar was filled with refreshing beer from Steam Whistle, delicious wines from Lakeview Wine Co. and non-alcoholic beverages from Drink Viveau. There were delicious light bites from Courage Cookies and Purplesful Popcorn as well; these bites are heavenly to snack on. Each ceremony was officiated by the wonderful Kelley Potter, except for one specific ceremony where a bride’s father walked her down the aisle and then quickly changed and officiated the wedding! This was such a unique and special touch and we loved to watch it unfold. The music from the amazing Toronto Jazz Collective certainly brought the ceremony together with its complex harmonies and soft rhythms. On top of the delicious bites and drinks, of course we have the most amazing cakes decorated in bright colours by Kwento for the couples who added on the Cutting Cake option. There to capture all the laughs, cries and memories being made were our incredible line up of photographers including Luna Weddings, The Organic Moment and Rita Kravchuk.

For this Chapel we donated $2,700 to The Awesome Music Project - this organization explores the the power of music through story telling, songs and science. The Awesome Music Project is all about educating people on how music can benefit mental health and mental wellness.
