VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: YOUNG, HIP & MARRIED

The Chapel team had the pleasure of chatting with Jane Halton, the Head Coach and Officiant at Young, Hip & Married to hear more about their love for helping couples take the ultimate next step in their relationship. The team at Young, Hip & Married has been a part of multiple Vancouver Chapels and we can’t wait to work with them again in 2023. Take a read below and learn more about Young, Hip & Married.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS?

I officiated my first wedding for a friend in 2002. After doing several weddings of my friends and cousins, I became a professional officiant with Young Hip and Married in 2015. I also manage our team of officiants all over North America and head up our Premarital/Relationship Coaching Program. When I’m not working in the wedding industry, I am usually swimming, reading or spending timing with my family in East Vancouver.

WHICH CHAPEL HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE?

I’ve done two in Vancouver and this last one was my favourite - it was book themed (which I loved!) and I felt like the vendors were really working well together, supporting one another and having fun with the couples. I loved how after the ceremony, up beat - almost dance party - music played during the reception. It had a celebratory feel - I think the guests loved it.

Wednesday Wedding Co. did a fantastic job keeping everything moving and making sure the couples and vendors had everything we needed.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WORKING IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY?

I love working with a variety of people who are all doing what they do best - whether that is photography, baking, decorating, organizing etc. It’s fun to see my vendor friends shine.

IF YOU COULD DESIGN A CHAPEL, HOW WOULD IT LOOK?

I’ll leave the design up to the experts. The two I’ve done have been incredible and I wouldn’t change a thing! But I could see a seasonal or holiday popup chapel being a lot of fun - like a Halloween one or winter wonderland theme.

HOW IS THE CHAPEL EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR TYPICAL WORK?

I love how the Pop-Up Chapels are very well run, re-use decor to be more sustainable and bring in such a variety of couples.  Even though the weddings are in the same place, often with the same music and same officiant, they all feel unique.

TELL US ABOUT HOW YOUR BRAND ALIGNS WITH THE POP-UP CHAPEL VALUES: SIMPLICITY, INCLUSIVITY, SUSTAINABILITY & SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS?

Inclusivity is very important at Young Hip & Married. We work at making everything from our intake forms, to our website, to our ceremonies as inclusive to all couples as possible. We strive to make our wedding ceremonies fit the desire of the couple no matter how or where they want to get married. I love being part of the type of wedding that Pop-up Chapel Co. organizes and officiating for couples who want to embrace these values at their wedding.

WHAT US SOMETHING YOU ARE WORKING ON THESE DAYS OR SOMETHING YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE COMMUNITY?!

We are always trying to grow and better our work at Young Hip & Married. As we expand globally, we want to become the go-to online resource for all things wedding ceremonies.

We offer wedding writing services (we’ll write your wedding and your friend/family can marry you), a vow writing course and officiant coaching. We also have our blog, with lots of helpful posts for planning a ceremony, and a resource library. And of course, we have our team of wedding officiants and relationship coaches in cities across Canada and the United States. For all of your wedding ceremony needs, check out Young Hip & Married!
