CHAPEL RECAP: AUGUST 4, 2023

On August 4th we returned to The Custom House, our favourite Hamilton area venue, for five elopements and an engagement shoot.

The Custom House is a heritage building, now home to the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre. This venue gives a beautiful historical and timeless vibe to the Chapel, and sits in front of beautiful sprawling gardens, the perfect setting for some couples portraits.

This Chapel was designed to feel soft and cozy, using rosy fabrics, delicately draped over the backdrop. Wild Vogel designed ethereal, tropical floral installations that popped against the warm velvety setting. Each couple enjoyed their custom bouquets and boutonnieres, carefully curated by Wild Vogel, to reflect them each uniquely.

For the third time this season, we revamped our coffee table, and used our pink office couch to create the lounge space. By placing the signature neon CHAPEL sign in front of the solo black wall, adorned with palm leaves and bright blooms, we curated a very vibey and fun photo moment!

During the ceremony, Marilyn Dion officiated all 5 couples with her signature fantastical flair. Dave Jones provided beautiful acoustic renditions of the romantic classics for each couple. This included a party spot where his performance drew an audience.

The couples and their guests chose their sips from a fully stocked bar of Fresh Wines, Shiny Apple Cider, Steam Whistle, and even Gruvi non-alcoholic wines. Courage Cookies and Purplesful Popcorn satisfied everyone as usual with sweet and savoury snacks galore.

When it came time to cut the cake, Olivia Yang Cake Studio wowed the couples with her beautiful design, topped off with an aerial confection tying into the ethereal decor.

Christine and Ross, of The Shepards Photo team, worked in tandem, snapping each sweet moment, for our couples to cherish. They truly captured completely distinct images, to reflect each coupleโ€™s special qualities, families and LOVE.

This Chapel benefited the work of the Workerโ€™s Arts and Heritage Centre of Hamilton. WAHC works to recognize and unite working people, both paid and unpaid, through art, history and culture. They are always creating new exhibits, events and projects to extend their reach, so be sure to check them out!

If youโ€™re looking for a wedding option in the Hamilton Area, we will be back at the Custom House on August 9th, 2024.

Get in touch before all the Chapel spots are gone!
