CHAPEL RECAP: SEPTEMBER 18, 2020

On September 18th, 2020 the Pop-Up Chapel team geared up for another beautiful day of creating lifelong memories. With one socially distanced chapel under our belt, we took every opportunity to create a safe environment for our chapel couples, friends and family to celebrate their love. We successfully married 9 joyous couples and created a stunning design filled with punchy colours and rustic accents.

This Chapel was held in Koerner Gardens at Evergreen Brickworks, one of our absolute favourite venues spaces. The decor was a mix of eclectic wooden elements mixed with soft fabrics. Our ceremony backdrop featured three wooden panels that we wallpapered in a sweet tangerine pattern. These panels were hanging in-front of beautifully hand dyed cheesecloth in an array of peachy oranges and teal blues. To bring the whole install to life we had Nymph Floral adorn the panels in bright, bold and beautiful local florals! Our aisle was lined with lush greenery garland and guests took their socially distanced seats on mismatched wooden chairs.

As sustainability is one of our core values, we are always trying to find ways to minimize waste and upcycle decor. Which is why we took on the challenge of designing this ceremony backdrop with items from previous projects. Our cheesecloth, wallpaper and signage wood had all been previously used and transformed into this stunning chapel design.

With 9 couples tying the knot we had officiants extraordinaire Jonny Belinko and Juliana Belinko guiding our couples through their ceremonies. Once again Next Level Entertainment had each couple groovin’ down the aisle with their live music. It is always such a treat to have these talented musicians performing at the chapel! We also had Epiq Vision on site taking care of all live streaming so even family and friends at home could watch the nuptials!

As our bar we had the always playful Tipsy Turny Trailer on-site serving Fresh Wines bubbly, Steam Whistle Beer, and a selection of Station Cold Brew and Cascara Sodas. The mobile bar was decked out in a stunning greenery install created by Nymph Floral, and as the sun set the hanging string lights created a beautiful glow. For the chapel couples who choose to add-on a 6” cutting cake, they were in total awe of the dreamy pastel cake from the Olivia Yang Cake Studio.

As guests took their seats at our socially distanced tables, they enjoyed the most delicious pre-packaged bites from Courage Cookies and Kernels Popcorn. A huge shoutout to our three photographers, Jennifer See Studios, Alicia Thurston Photography, and Rachel Hunt Photography for capturing the day so perfectly between our iconic Chapel marquee sign provided by Wild and Free Marquee and our rustic ladder photo op. After their time in the chapel concluded they were whisked off by their photographer for a romantic portrait session on the beautiful Evergreen Brickworks grounds.

This chapel was certainly a contestant for our favourite chapel yet (as we say about every Chapel!) We successfully raised $3,000 for Evergreen Brickworks Children's Garden and married 9 happy couples! As always, we could not have made this chapel happen without our incredibly talented team of vendors.
