18 Couples Said I Do Amidst a Vibrant Disco-inspired Ceremony

On September 24th and 25th, we transformed the ceremony space at The Loft on King Street into a funky, disco-inspired celebration where we married 18 beautiful couples in style! Known for its beautiful interior and NYC loft style flair, the Loft on King Street was the perfect venue space to bring this unique Chapel to life as it’s minimalist touch, modern and historic decor, and versatility made it easy to integrate our bold design.

The decor for our ceremony space included beautiful dried flowers in our bright colour scheme of bubble gum pink, raspberry, mustard yellow, touches of silver, and unreal electric blue chiavari chairs from detailz couture. And for the WOW factor? Our most vibrant backdrop yet which was made of super colourful mylar fringe and fabric in shades from our colour scheme that we layered, cut to different lengths to create depth and texture. To bring it all together we peppered shimmering disco balls of varying sizes all throughout the venue space so it felt like our couples were literally walking into the most upbeat party of love!

Post-ceremony, couples and their guests were invited to enjoy refreshing sparkling wine from Fresh Wines and cooled Steam Whistle beers which was a wonderful pairing to the freshly baked cookies and flavourful popcorn courtesy of by Courage Cookies and Kernels Popcorn! For a different twist, we got creative and designed our signage on repurposed wood from previous Love by Lynzie events using brush strokes and our brand font for a seamless look. As for our photo opp, we couldn’t do without our classic Chapel Marquee Letters which made for a fun backdrop as photographers captured sweet memories during the couples portrait sessions.

With the new restrictions that were put in place for Covid-19, our layout and planning process was modified to ensure that all regulations and standards were met. Although this “new norm” changed the way we ran Chapel weddings, we were still committed to making the day stress-free and beautiful for our couples and their guests. Our Chapel safety plan included a socially distanced Chapel space, sanitization stations set up in every room and hallway, carefully pre-packaged food and drinks, staff on site to disinfect every surface area before and after each couple, and 6ft distances maintained throughout the day. And yes, we made sure our stations were still totally trendy and on-theme!

In commitment to our Chapel givebacks, we successfully raised $5,700 in support of Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue charity with a dual mission of environmental protection and hunger relief, and United Way, a local organization dedicated to creating the opportunities people need to improve their lives and build a better future. Thanks to our couples and vendors, we are proud to be leaving a positive footprint in communities that need it the most.
