CHAPEL RECAP: JULY 6 & 7, 2023

Erika & Willard pose for a photo after being pronounced married.

Come on Barbie, let’s get married!

On July 6th and 7th, we had the pleasure of watching 15 couples say ‘I do’, in a Chapel that overflowed with love, excitement, and all things PINK at Evergreen Brick Works.

The bold and bright Chapel decor was certainly one to remember, and as always it surprised our couples and looked fantastic. Inspired by the Barbiemania of this summer, the team sought out to design a Chapel as vibrant and playful as the character herself. The use of eclectic vases in all shades of pink, graffiti hearts, and flowing pink fabric created a totally distinct environment for the summer nuptials. Narcissus & Echo provided the blush floral installations to level up the Chapel, and May Flowers created 15 personalized bouquets and boutonnières with care and flair. Glamorous Affairs provided the funky pink lounge beneath our signature Chapel sign and Event Rental Group supplied us with the the necessary bar and furniture rentals.

To make each ceremony unique and unforgettable, Next Level Entertainment provided a saxophone and keyboard duo, giving us jazzy renditions of all the best love songs. Alongside them was EpiQ Vision, providing all the much needed A/V support.

On July 6th, Juliana Klein officiated 5 Chapel ceremonies, as did both Kim Adeney and Leonard Nolasco on July 7th. We have built relationships with officiants who share our value of inclusivity, and we are always so happy to watch them make each couple feel so comfortable.

We had quite the line up of shooters at the Chapel with Sean Sutherland on Videography, Curio Studios on live streaming, and a fleet of photographers including Alicia Thurston Photography, Rita Kravchuk Photography, Frances Rose West, Cassie Cetlin Photography, and Willow + Birch. Thanks to all of you for immortalizing the day for us!

When ‘I dos’ were said and done, couples lead their guests back up the aisle to start celebrating. Courage Cookies and Purplesful Snacking brought the grub and the people left no crumbs. Fresh Wines, supplied the vino, Steam Whistle delivered pilsner, and Shiny Apple Cider brought 4 delicious flavours of sparkling ciders. For our sober curious friends, we served Juicy IPA and Gruvi zero-proof sparkling. All these wonderful beverages were served by the Dream Weaver mobile bar, which doubled as the cutest photo opp ever! Olivia Yang Cake Studio created the cakes that tied into the decor, and made for the sweetest cutting cake pics.

$4500 was raised collectively for The Evergreen Children’s Garden. The Children’s Garden gives children, families and caregivers alike the chance to engage in active, inclusive and seasonal activities while cultivating a lifelong relationship with nature.

Curious about a wedding at the iconic Evergreen Brick Works? The Pop-Up Chapel will be returning for 5 Chapel dates in 2024.
