TOP 10 DO’S AND DON’TS OF ELOPING!

Couples more and more are straying away from big traditional weddings, and instead leaning towards elopements for many reasons, including rising costs, simply wanting something more intimate, or overwhelmed by the work it takes to plan a wedding. And we’re here for it!

If you are one of those couples and those reasons resonate with you, check out our top 10 list of do’s and don’ts of eloping!

The Do’s!

1- Attend Wedding Shows

No matter what type of couple you are, the “plan every minute of the day” or the “we’ll figure out when the time comes”, wedding shows are a must. Attending those showcases are the best way for you to connect to the best local vendors and chat with them in person to see if it’s a good fit. Another pro of weddings shows is if you have no idea what you are looking to do for your own wedding, it’s a great place to find inspiration!

2 - Research The Right Key Words

It’s easy to spiral into internet rabbit holes. There’s endless amounts of information and content around about big weddings, but for more intimate weddings it requires the right research to find exactly what you are looking for. Researching with the right key words such as “non traditional wedding”, “micro weddings Canada“, “elopement ideas”, “all inclusive elopement package”, will give you the right results and move you in the right direction.

The Pop-Up Chapel Co. Team is here to help you find the best fit for your special day. Schedule a 15 min consultation with our team HERE or attend to our weekly webinar HERE to see what package fits your Chapel style!

3 - Invest In Things That Are Important To YOU!

Every couple is different - some must have videography for their wedding, some prefer to go with a more floral heavy wedding, while others want the most cost effective wedding possible. Whatever is most important for you, follow your gut and invest in that. It’s your special day, don’t give into what everyone else wants, and go for what you think is worth it!

4- Non-traditional Is The New Black!

Make your day uniquely yours! Brainstorm with your partner on what are some non-traditional wedding customs that you would like to add to your wedding day. Maybe a colourful dress, a unique theme, a piercing station, a polaroid photographer - the options are truly endless. Anything that makes your day unforgettable for you and your guests!

The Don’ts!

1- City Hall Wedding

If a city hall wedding is really what you want, who are we to say no? BUT, why not have something beautiful with the same elements of a traditional wedding (florals, light bites, live music, etc.!), but the intimacy of a city hall wedding? AND did we mention it’s all for less than $5k?! There are many micro wedding and elopement options that are ready to be called yours. Create something personalized that will stay with you forever!

Maybe we are biased, but The Pop-Up Chapel Co. has one hour long Chapels for couples who don’t want something beautiful, intimate and of course, affordable. That’s why we call ourselves Better Than City Hall! Learn HERE about how we are changing the “traditional” city hall wedding!

At the Pop-Up Chapel, all you have to do is book and show up! No need to manage contracts or pay endless invoices. All the nitty gritty details are taken care of for you. Learn a bit more about how we make that happen HERE!
