HOW TO PLAN A CHIC MICRO WEDDING ON A BUDGET!

Here are some of our favourite tips on how to have a dreamy chic micro wedding on a budget!

Weddings are arguably one of the most significant and memorable moments in a couple's journey, and because of that people tend to spend a lot more money than what is expected or anticipated. For some couples, ensuring their wedding day is the best of the best, means that what they spend may exceed their budget boundaries. The cost of a wedding changes depending on what you are looking for, for example: a large banquet hall or a small intimate restaurant, 500 guests or 20 guests, seated dinner or a food truck, a 4 hour party or a small 2 hour reception. All these factors come with a price and it’s up to you to decide what are the must haves or nice to haves at your wedding.

Go DIY!

No ones knows what you like better than you, so why not grab some wine, invite your bridal party over, and get creative and have fun with some DIY projects for your wedding? Consider making your own decorations such as a backdrop out of recycled materials, centrepieces with thrifted items, the possibilities are endless. This can be a fun and creative way to save money, add a personal touch to your wedding, and bring your vision to life!

Rent Instead of Buy

Renting instead of buying can apply to so many things for your wedding! After your wedding you won’t reuse most stuff you purchased, so why not rent and return once you’re done? Most wedding dresses and tuxedos you may only wear them once, so check out a local bridal boutique or formal wear shop. If you are considering having a lounge area or a photo opp, look for props and rental companies near you and they might have something that catches your eye!

Not Small… Intimate!

Having a smaller guest list means saving money. Keeping the list small allows you to have more time to chat and connect with all of your guests, and create a memorable experience with only the most important people in your life. This gives you the freedom in splurging on details that may not have been possible with a larger wedding. An intimate wedding has so many pros, including being budget friendly!

The Right Venue is Key!

Have you ever thought of an unconventional venue for your wedding? When we think of the wedding space, we look for the basic spaces: A dance hall, a dining room, a religious space, etc. Think about spaces that are important for you and a mark on your relationship. Also think about spaces that people usually wouldn’t get married at, like the library, the museum, a rooftop, a park! Make sure you find a space that relates to you as a couple, and that gives of the vibe that you are trying to give away on your wedding!
